BidSlam is a gamified competition platform where members buy credits and use them to compete for products that always close at $1. The mechanics are simple to learn, the product range is extensive and exciting, and a Buy Now option gives bidders a safety net. The trade-off worth understanding is that every bid costs a credit but, the wins are exceptional such as a Rolex watch or designer handbag for a $1 winning price. Our take: BidSlam can be genuinely rewarding for people who learn the timer rules, and treat bidding as fun and exciting entertainment.
BidSlam is an online competition platform with a gamified twist. Winning prices are set at $1 with no increments, so entries never raise the price - each entry simply keeps you in and adds 10 seconds to the countdown. When the timer finally hits zero, the last person in the competition wins and buys the item for $1.
BidSlam is sometimes spelled Bidlsam, Bid Slam, Bidslam, Bidslamm, Bid-Slam, BidSlamm, Bidsalm, Bidsla, Idslam, Bislam, Bidsam, Biddslam, Bidsslam, Bidslamb, Bydslam, Vidslam, Bodslam, Budslam or Bidslams. All of these refer to the same platform at bidslam.com.

BidSlam is a gamified competition platform where members use bid credits to compete for products priced at $1. This guide explains every part of the process — buying bids, the fixed price, the countdown timer, Buy Now, and how to take part sensibly.
Every BidSlam competition follows the same simple flow. Once you have taken part once, the rest are the same.

Unlike a traditional penny auction, BidSlam does not raise the price with each bid. Every product is priced at $1 with no increments. Placing a bid never increases what you pay for the item — it simply keeps you in the competition and extends the countdown. If you are the last person in when the timer hits zero, you win and buy the item for $1.
That fixed price is why the savings can be so large: a product with a high retail value still costs the winner $1. Read what members say in our BidSlam customer reviews.
Before you can take part, you buy bid credits. Each bid you place uses one credit. Credits are spent whether or not you go on to win, so the real cost of taking part is the number of bids you use plus the $1 win price. This is the single most important thing to understand before you start: set a bid budget and stick to it, and treat a competition as entertainment with a possible payoff rather than a guaranteed discount.
Each competition runs on a countdown. When a bid is placed in the closing moments, the timer adds a small amount of time, giving others a chance to respond. Because of this, competitions can run longer than the clock first suggests. The competition ends only when the timer reaches zero with no further bids — and the last person to have bid wins.
If a competition does not go your way, Buy Now lets you purchase the item at a set price instead. Where applicable, the bids you spent can be credited toward that purchase, so the credits you used are not simply lost. Availability and terms depend on the specific competition.
BidSlam offers membership perks and a broad catalogue that spans everyday items through to luxury goods — watches, fashion and electronics among them. New competitions appear regularly, which is part of what keeps regulars coming back to see what is live.
